60|60ABQ is a multimedia project that explores the landscapes of central New Mexico. Interpreting local environs through contemporary art, 60|60ABQ encourages viewers to develop new ways of looking at public lands.
Put another way, it's a virtual wunderkammer of stuff collected and imagined while conducting field research for theguidebook.
60|60ABQ also serves as a supplement to the guidebook, which emphasizes the cultural, historic, and natural significance of our great outdoors in the pragmatic manner of traditional interpretive media.
The project and the book take opposite approaches toward the same goal: to enhance appreciation for outdoor spaces in and around Albuquerque.
At the core of 60|60ABQ is a series of short videos. This offbeat production combines Ausherman's imagery with original scores by Albuquerque musician Chuck Hawley to present a unique vision of the landscapes described in the guidebook.
Videos are subject to continual revision. No two presentations are ever quite the same.
Ausherman is available to screen the 60|60ABQ video series and host book signings at venues with adequate seating. Please note that low lighting is necessary for viewing projected video.
For venues that cannot meet space or lighting requirements, DVD and interactive PC versions may be available for display.
