apprenticeship information

17MAY09: two openings available
What we can offer:

- Free training and direct mentorship in field
recording via video, sound and photography,
sound art and manipulation; writing, narration,
and interactive media elements.

Important note: this project encourages the creative
use of low-end consumer electronics and software.
It does
not involve standard technical training for the
commercial movie industry.

- Experience in video installation, presentations,
art documentation, grant writing, and creative
workshop development for youth and general
community members.

- Apprentices may also receive nominal pay,
letters of recommendation, academic credit,
portfolio clips, and participation in the state's
biggest art event in 2009.

non-consecutive days of training, workshops,
and presentations. Scheduling is flexible, but

- Field sessions may require full-day hikes.

- Participants may also be given independent
projects and research assignments. (We'll try
to keep the homework to a minimum.)

- A one-page summary of your apprenticeship
experience for the NM Film Office.

Ideal candidates: Students of fine art, music,
or creative writing who
are interested in
expanding their modes of expression into
